Object Details

Frances Bolton’s campaigns were expansive affairs, accompanied by a wide variety of campaign materials, including this rare balloon, that lifted her name above other candidates. Bolton’s popularity and deep financial resources served her well. She was widely known and popular in her Ohio district, and never seriously challenged in 15 congressional elections in a row.
