Object Details

The House Chamber and the interior of the recently opened Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress appear together on this postcard from the early 20th century. A side-by-side comparison can be made of showcase spaces in the neighboring buildings, contrasting the open space of the Chamber with the densely arrayed columns and painted ceiling vaults on the second level of the Library.
