Object Details

In the 1920s, Charles Moberly worked as a resident decorative painter and artistic jack-of-all-trades for the Capitol. Up in his attic studio, Moberly shared space with a gigantic model of the Capitol and worked on dozens of projects, from touching up historic frescos to relining paintings. In this photograph, Moberly poses for the cameras with a copy of the New Mexico state seal, destined to become part of the ceiling of the House Chamber.
