This metal lapel tab was made for Gerald Ford’s 1970 congressional campaign. Ford had represented his Michigan district for two decades. He was so familiar to constituents that his nickname was all they needed to show who they were supporting. Tabs were inexpensive alternatives to campaign buttons and particularly well suited to single-word slogans.
