This fan is one of two in the House Collection that were distributed by Representative Joe Evins. In both examples, the Congressman touted his qualifications on one side and provided some visual interest on the other. In this case, he mentioned his work for farmers, dairymen, and military veterans. The reverse of the fan showed a view of the Washington Monument framed by Japanese cherry blossoms, an image that was probably from a standard set of illustrations available from the printer.
