A letter from the secretary of war concerning a proposed military post at Lexington, Ky., 1889 Dec. 11. This item is a letter contained in a report from the U.S. House of Representatives, ex. doc. no. 44. The letter from W.C.P. Breckinridge offers on behalf of the citizens of Lexington, Kentucky, to donate land for a proposed military post and cavalry station at that city.

A letter from James E. Peyton to W.C.P. Breckinridge written on January 21, 1890. In the letter, James Peyton writes concerning a pamphlet which James Peyton mailed to W.C.P. Breckinridge. It was prepared in crude form by James Peyton and would "inform you of how our distinguished countryman was relieved of trouble in his declining years." James Peyton goes on to disclose he had received an autographed letter of Judge Robert Todd's. It was sent to him by Colonel Todd of Frankfort, Kentucky. Judege Todd was a Supreme Court justice.
