TRANDAHL, Jeff, a Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk from South Dakota; born in Spearfish, Lawrence County, South Dakota, 1964; B.A., University of Maryland, College Park, Md., 1987; staff, United States Senator James Abdnor of South Dakota, 1982–1987; staff, United States Representative Virginia Smith of Nebraska, 1987–1990; staff, United States House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, 1987–1990; staff, United States Representative Pat Roberts of Kansas, 1990–1995; deputy clerk, Office of the Clerk, United States House of Representatives, 1995–1996; appointed Chief Administrative Officer of the United States House of Representatives to the One Hundred Fourth Congress; elected Chief Administrative Officer of the United States House of Representatives to the One Hundred Fifth Congress until his resignation on July 31, 1997 (November 22, 1996–July 31, 1997); deputy clerk of the United States House of Representatives, 1997–1999; appointed Clerk of the United States House of Representatives to the One Hundred Fifth Congress; elected Clerk of the United States House of Representatives to the One Hundred Sixth and to the three succeeding Congresses until his resignation on November 18, 2005 (January 1, 1999–November 18, 2005); director, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, 2005–present.
