DESCHLER, Lewis, a Parliamentarian; born in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio, March 3, 1905; graduated from Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Ohio; attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; graduated from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., 1925; J.D., Master of Patent Law, National University, Washington, D.C., 1932; timekeeper and messenger at the Speaker’s desk, 1925; assistant parliamentarian, 1927; appointed Parliamentarian of the United States House of Representatives for the Seventieth and and served in the twenty-three succeeding Congresses (1927–1975); author; died July 12, 1976, in Bethesda, Md.
