DALLEY, Gifford, a Doorkeeper from Pennsylvania; born in 1742; manager, City Tavern, Philadelphia, Pa.; elected Doorkeeper of the United States House of Representatives for the First Congress and for the two succeeding Congresses (April 4, 1789–December 7, 1795); died in August 1798, in Philadelphia, Pa.
