Dr. Balch, Georgetown, D.C., 1823; regent, University of the State of New York, New York, N.Y.; pastor, New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C., 1825; manager, American Colonization Society, 1829; manager, Bible Society of the City of Washington, 1829; pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Albany, N.Y., 1831–1864; died on March 27, 1864, in Albany, N.Y.
