BROWN, William Holmes, a Parliamentarian; born in Huntington, Cabell County, W.Va., September 3, 1929; graduated from Huntington High School, Huntington, W.Va., 1947; B.S., Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, Pa., 1951; J.D., University of Chicago Law School, Chicago, Ill., 1954; United States Navy Reserve, 1954–1974; assistant parliamentarian, United States House of Representatives, 1958–1974; appointed Parliamentarian of the United States House of Representatives to the Ninety-Third and served in the ten succeeding Congresses (1974–1994); author; died May 27, 2001, in Leesburg, Va.; interment in Goose Creek Burying Ground, Lincoln, Va.
