WILLIAMS, Robert, (brother of John Williams, of Tennessee, and Lewis Williams; cousin of Marmaduke Williams), a Representative from North Carolina; born on July 12,1773; elected as a Republican to the Fifth and to the two succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1797-March 3, 1803); served as the Mississippi Territorial Governor; died on January 25, 1836.
