TURNER, Robert L., a Representative from New York; born in New York, New York County, N.Y., May 2, 1941; graduated from Richmond Hill High School, Richmond Hill, N.Y.; B.A., St. John’s University, New York, N.Y.; United States Army, 1962-1964; businessman; unsuccessful candidate for election to the United States House of Representatives in 2010; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Twelfth Congress, by special election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Anthony D. Weiner (September 13, 2011-January 3, 2013); not a candidate for reelection in 2012, but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination for the United States Senate.
