Biography

YATRON, Gus, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Reading, Berks County, Pa., October 16, 1927; graduated from Reading High School, Reading, Pa., 1946; graduated from Kutztown State Teachers College, Kutztown, Pa., 1950; member of the Reading School Board, Reading, Pa., 1955-1961; member of the Pennsylvania state house of representatives, 1956-1960; member of the Pennsylvania state senate, 1960-1968; businessman; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-first and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1969-January 3, 1993); was not a candidate for renomination to the One Hundred Third Congress in 1992; died on March 13, 2003, in Fairfax Station, Va.; interment in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, Berks County, Pa.
