In 1941, Alabama Representative Luther Patrick provided tongue-in-cheek advice to new Members from the House Floor. He advised them to avoid being too original, to try not to say too much, and to never let their faces droop or relax in front of cameras. To illustrate what faces not to make, Patrick posed for press photographers in a goofy stance.
