In his May 9, 1957, address to a Joint Meeting of Congress, South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem thanked the United States for its moral and material support and vowed to continue the fight against communism. Diem is among the more than 100 foreign leaders and dignitaries who have addressed Congress.
