This image, titled "Swearing in Speaker," was part of a 50 postcard series called “Greetings from Picturesque America,” marked by the vignette of a female figure, eagle, and flag in the upper corner. Before 1907, one side of a postcard was reserved entirely for the address, and the picture and message were contained on one side, as in this example.
