Speaker of the House Samuel Randall’s carte-de-visite by Washington, D.C., studio C. M. Bell was the basis for numerous images, including two portraits in the collection of the U.S. House of Representatives. C. M. Bell produced commercial photographs such as this popularly collected format, as well as stereoviews of the Washington area.
