Congressmen A. S. Herlong (left) and T. James Tumulty enjoyed the festivities before the annual Congressional Baseball Game, meeting a live version of the Democratic mascot. Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren threw out the first pitch before the Republicans ended the Democrats’ seven-year winning streak with a 12-4 triumph. Hosted at Griffith Stadium by the Evening Star newspaper, all proceeds went to local summer camp programs.
