The Democratic and Republican cheerleaders made a bipartisan showing, but there was no such comity on the diamond at the 1965 Congressional Baseball Game. The game at D.C. Stadium lasted only four innings and the Republicans won, 3-1. Congressman Morris Udall scored the only Democratic run and Bob Michel saw his third victory as the Republican pitcher. The game was marred by an injury to Glenn Davis, who received eight stitches after a collision with Bob Duncan at second base. This was the second in an 11-game winning streak for Republicans.
