Indiana Congressman Charles Halleck, a 34-year veteran of the House, was photographed having his tie straightened by his wife Blanche for a magazine profile of the new Minority Leader. Halleck, who liked to call himself the “100 percent Republican,” was twice considered a potential vice presidential nominee during the 1948 and 1952 elections.
