Former Speaker John Carlisle rated a portrait image and the leading line in Once a Week’s “Around the World in 20 Minutes” wit the news that he was a candidate for the presidency. This particular bust-length portrait image of Carlisle was reproduced in numerous formats, including cartes-de-visite photographs, lithographs included in tobacco packages, and in engraved prints such as this one.
