The House issued passes for visitors to the galleries that overlook the House Chamber's floor. The cards’ colors varied from year to year, but the image of Liberty remained the same for generations. A Mrs. Stadler used this one on September 20, 1943, courtesy of the Speaker of the House, Sam Rayburn. On that date, the main event in the House was debate and passage of a resolution in favor of an international body devoted to maintaining world peace.
