To supplement an account of President Benjamin Harrison's inauguration, Harper’s Weekly commissioned one of their largest prints, depicting the parade from the Capitol to the White House. At the head rode the Grand Marshal, Civil War hero and Pennsylvania Governor James Beaver and his staff, soaking wet from their high silk hats to their leather boots. They were followed by veterans of Harrison’s Civil War regiment, the 90th Indiana. A barouche carrying the new President and his predecessor is visible behind the bowler-hatted regiment.
