Two scenes of excitement regarding the imminent war with Spain were illustrated in this print. At the top of the page, Members stood and waved for the Speaker’s recognition in the Chamber. Below, a dense crowd gathered under the East Front portico, waiting for admission to the Capitol to witness the lively discussion in the Chamber.
