Object Details

The Little Congress is shown at its annual luncheon in 1928. Formed in 1919, this group of House and Senate staff met regularly to debate issues before Congress, attend lectures and social events, and increase its knowledge of parliamentary procedure. Future President Lyndon Johnson served as Speaker of the group in 1933 and transformed it into a highly political organization.
