Though portraits were generally unusual among stereoviews, in 1898 publisher Strohmeyer and Wyman produced images of significant Members of Congress. Powerful Speaker Thomas Brackett Reed was among those photographed, and he is shown here in the Speaker’s rooms. His impressive bulk occupies most of the space, with just a glimpse of the overstuffed shelves of the secretary’s desk behind him.
