Lindy Boggs, Chairwoman of the Commission of the United States House of Representatives Bicentenary, was involved with Congress—first as her husband Hale Boggs’s political confidante and then as a Member—for nearly five decades. The portrait was unveiled in the Capitol on September 27, 2004, and includes a small replica of the Car of History clock. This clock has been present in the old House Chamber since 1819, and it symbolizes both her love of history and the committee she chaired.
