Chairman William Ford’s portrait for the Committee on Post Office and Civil Service was unveiled in 1990. One of two portraits of Ford by fellow Michigan resident Joseph Maniscalco, the subject is depicted leaning on a table, with his arm draped over a globe. Symbolic of his committee, he holds a letter in one hand. A small reproduction of the sculpture of John F. Kennedy displayed in the lobby of the Kennedy Center also sits on the table.
