Chairman Bob Jones served 30 years in the House, the last two of them wielding the gavel of the Public Works and Transportation Committee. The portrait was commissioned at the end of his House career, and shows him leaning on a chair, with an American flag behind him. Many House Members attended the unveiling, which was marked by accolades from long-serving Members who had known him for three decades.
