Unveiled on August 2, 1978, Al Ullman’s Ways and Means Committee Chairman portrait shows him standing behind a vaguely indicated dais, with one of the hearing room’s pilasters defining the space. Artist Terry Rogers enlivens both the figure and space with color. The wall behind the figure has a sunburst pattern emanating from a pale center, and striking green pigments give the face and hair of the figure a sense of movement and intensity.
