Olin Teague was well into his 18 years as Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee when this portrait was completed in 1962. He stands at a lectern decorated with the Great Seal of the United States. One hand rests on his hip and the other holds a gavel. Teague, nicknamed “Tiger” during his high school football days, presents a bulky figure, clad in a dark blue suit before a mottled background.
