John Moakley’s Rules Committee Chairman portrait was unveiled on May 15, 2001, seven years after the end of his tenure. Appropriately, the lifelong Boston resident chose an artist identified with the Boston School of realism, Gary Hoffman. This painterly, traditional work shows Moakley seated, in three-quarter length, in a simple office-like setting.
