The portrait of Banking and Currency Committee Chairman Wright Patman was unveiled during a House career that began in 1929 and spanned landmark legislation from the Veterans’ Bonus Bill to the Federal Credit Union Act. The unveiling ceremony for the painting was attended by hundreds of admirers of his work over decades of service.
