This urbane portrait of Walter Andrews was created 15 years after his death, using only a small photograph as source material. Artist Robert Skemp was a fortunate choice for a challenging commission. His work on advertising campaigns for Schlitz Beer, Studebaker Cars, and the Coca-Cola Company allowed him to leap from scant documentary material to a full-length rendering of the Armed Services Committee Chairman at leisure.
