Although it might appear to show the real House Chamber, this photograph is a film still showing a set from the 1944 film Wilson. The technicolor biopic of Woodrow Wilson included this scene of the President, played by actor Alexander Knox, addressing Congress. The big-budget production made news for its expensive and meticulously reproduced sets—although, as the Baltimore Sun sniffed, the “majority of the customers won’t appreciate the authenticity.”
