Before becoming a Representative, K. Michael Conaway worked as an accountant. At the unveiling of his portrait as chairman of the Agriculture Committee, Conaway, perhaps with his novice status as a farmer in mind, expressed gratitude for the “tremendous amount of trust” granted him when he started his service on the committee. The portrait by artist Robert Anderson shows Conaway in a relaxed office setting, seated in a historic House “Turkish” chair, with a photo of his wife displayed on a side table.
