Clerk of the House Jeff Trandahl wore this hardhat over the long course of one of Congress’s largest building projects: the underground U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. The project took decades to plan, seven years to construct, and removed 650,000 cubic yards of soil from the Capitol’s grounds.
