Because the Parliamentarians pasted clippings from the Congressional Record into the book, the pages grew cockled, probably from the glue’s moisture, making the unwieldy tome even thicker. Deschler “literally has consumed enough Congressional Records to give him gastric indigestion,” quipped the Washington Post.
