Object Details

Illustrated directories of then-current Members of Congress were popular moneymakers for publishers as far back as the 19th century. Chester Gross, like other Representatives, ordered versions of the directory with his photograph on the front cover and stamped them “Compliments of Chester Gross” before distributing them to supporters.
