William Andrews served as a territorial delegate for New Mexico. Before moving west, he lived in Pennsylvania and held a seat in the state’s legislature. Andrews had also been president of the Santa Fe Railway Company. This perhaps influenced his use of a special campaign train in 1908, which conveyed Andrews and other Republicans—along with a band—around the territory.
