Willis Bradley, war hero and former governor of Guam, used this postcard during his unsuccessful re-election campaign in 1948. A supporter could sign beneath a pre-printed message on the back and send it to fellow California constituents. Following his defeat, Bradley soon re-entered politics and won election to the State assembly. All told, he spent five decades as a public servant in the military and government before his 1954 death in office.
