Collection of the U.S. House of Representatives, Gift of Charles M. and Paul S. Lewis
Object Details
Radio reporter Charles Lewis covered the House in 1944. He considered it such a memorable experience that he carried this press pass in his wallet for the rest of his long career. The pass itself was originally a Visitors’ Gallery pass, but it was issued to Lewis when he took a summer job as the congressional reporter for WOL Radio. In fact, the seat he had, directly across from the rostrum, afforded an excellent perch from which to watch the action on the floor.
