Oliver “Ollie” Bolton of Ohio included his spouse and children in this campaign postcard, but it was his parents who tied him to politics. Frances Bolton was the first woman elected from Ohio, succeeding her husband after his death. Oliver became the first son to serve simultaneously with his mother, when he represented a district neighboring hers in the 1950s.
