Renovations of the Cannon House Office Building beginning in 2014 uncovered artifacts from the last century. In corridor walls and trenches, workers discovered bottles and cans, including this Rock Creek Ginger Ale bottle. Founded in 1920, the Rock Creek Ginger Ale Company bottled refreshing beverages in a converted bowling alley in Southwest Washington, D.C. Based on the artifactual evidence, the local soft drink was a favorite thirst-quencher on Capitol Hill.
