Using the Capitol as an advertising tool is nothing new. This poster for Capitol Club Beverages dates to the late 1940s. An image of the iconic Capitol dome and a caricature of a Congressman, complete with white suit, string tie, and handlebar mustache, reinforced the unusual association of soft drinks with Congress.
