Object Details
This homemade shoeshine chair—complete with magazine rack and linoleum floor surface—came from a lounge adjacent to the House Chamber. Dating from around the turn of the 20th century, the chair was retired when facilities surrounding the Chamber were reconfigured in 2012. Other shoeshine stations and a shoe repair shop remain in service on the House campus.
