The opening of the Rayburn House Office Building brought mid-century modern design to the House. This pastel-hued, minimalist chair offered a seat for the weary while they waited for the subway car to the Capitol. The convenient new conveyance, along with several large new committee hearing rooms, was a highlight of the new office building.
