Celebrity turnout for the 1953 Congressional Baseball Game—to which this ticket provided admission—was particularly high. President Dwight Eisenhower threw the ceremonial first pitch after hosting a lunch for 44 of the nation’s leading athletes. New York Yankee Joe DiMaggio and reigning heavyweight boxing champion Rocky Marciano were among those who went from lunch at the White House to Griffith Stadium for the evening’s game.
