Just before a hearing started, the press photographed Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins as she met with Labor Committee leaders William Connery, Jr., and Mary Norton in 1933. This hearing was on the Roosevelt administration’s plan for a standardized 30-hour work week. It marked one of Perkins' first appearances of many before the committee.
